Sunita's Story - Handmade in Chamoli

Updated: Sep 12, 2023

I'm Sunita Gosai, and I come from Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. Handicrafts have always been my passion, especially embroidery and knitting. However, it was only after my children grew up that I decided to act on my interest. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree and gained 10-12 years of experience in making handmade products. I learned a lot about handicrafts by joining an NGO and taking training there. I even had the opportunity to attend exhibitions in other states like Chandigarh, Delhi, and Dehradun, which helped me improve my skills in designing and sculpting.

I specialize in making handmade products of fabrics like jute, cotton, and more. Despite my talent and dedication, I struggled to make a name for myself in the market due to a lack of funds. It was challenging to market my products effectively and reach a wider audience. But I'm determined to fulfill my dreams and take my business to the next level.

Through Mumkin's support and resources, my business has started to flourish. They helped me with marketing my products on a larger scale and online marketplaces which expanded my customer base. With their guidance, I was able to streamline my production process and reduce costs while maintaining the quality of my products. I was also able to create a strong brand identity and build a loyal customer base through their help. Thanks to Mumkin's support, I'm seeing growth in my business. I'm grateful for their help and support, and I hope to continue growing my business with their assistance in the future.
